About
Why ATL exists
Social cricket usually leaves the same people watching. ATL was built so that never happens.
Our story
The AllPlay T20 League started with a simple frustration: in most social cricket games, three or four confident players take almost every ball, and everyone else fields for two hours and goes home. Plenty of people in healthcare grew up loving cricket but never get a proper hit.
So we changed the format instead of changing the people. Eight a side, four fixed pairs, five overs per pair. Every pair bats their full allocation, and a dismissal costs the pair 5 runs rather than a place at the crease. Everyone bats and everyone bowls, every single week.
The first season is in Perth, Western Australia, played in daylight with a hard pink 156g ball, on flexible boundaries of roughly 40 to 55 metres. Results are scored live in our own app and published to this site the same day.
Made for the healthcare community
Healthcare runs on rosters, nights and swapped shifts. That makes long formats and weeknight training almost impossible, and it is why so many colleagues stop playing sport altogether.
ATL is designed around that reality: short matches, a clear draw published in advance, no training commitment, and teams built around hospitals, clinics, disciplines and student cohorts. It doubles as a way to meet people outside your own department, which is good for the roster and good for the head.
Registration is free. The league is funded by sponsors, so nobody is priced out.
Who can play
The league is open to the whole healthcare community: doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health, paramedics, pharmacy, dental, laboratory, imaging, admin and support staff, and health students. If you work in or study for healthcare, you are in.
Each team may also include up to 2 guest players per team from outside healthcare, so you can bring a partner, a housemate or a mate who is short of a game.
Eligibility is by self declaration. We do not ask for payslips or student cards, we just ask you to be honest when you register.
